Directions For Men
Empowering Men to talk about their mental health
Directions For Men provides groups for men to come and talk about whatever it is that is affecting their mental health. We support each other through difficult times and we help each other by talking about what worked for us when we were going through difficult times.
Information & Communication
Including ongoing support for emotional wellbeing with preventative check-ins and longer term follow-up.
Tailored Personalised Care
Including as many mental health care options as possible, talking therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and mindfulness.
The Value Of Peer Support
Including casual meet-ups with others who have a mental health condition, where they can help each other and talk about their issues.
5 Steps To Wellbeing
Evidence suggests there are 5 steps you can take to improve your mental health and wellbeing
“Directions For Men want to get men doing things they enjoy so we also get activities and events off the ground for you to attend and participate in and meet a new bunch of mates.
What we do is called peer support. That is people with similar backgrounds and experiences looking out for each other.
When you arrive to see us you will be greeted by a smile and handshake and the offer of a brew to help settle any nerves or anxiety you have, we don’t shine spotlights on people and you are free to talk as much or as little as you want.”
